I am a 53 yr old family man, lucky enough to be married with two teenage children. I am coming up to 3 yrs post diagnosis. For me MND started with weakness in my left tricep, vacillations with a small amount of muscle wasting in the left hand. I am an avid sports fan, particular in rugby which I was lucky enough to also play for 25 years.

Before retirement, I spent nearly 30 years working in finance across several industries. I have a love of science and indeed a long time ago gained a chemistry degree.

I am a very positive person and try to bring energy and fun to any situation I find myself in. I’ve learned through my career in business that real success is driven through a common vision and excellent collaboration. I really believe that in working together across all organisations involved in MND research, together we will find solutions for MND. I feel a duty and sense of purpose to continue the great work of people that have come before me in terms of building awareness and advocating for investment in research to accelerate effective treatment.
