I am 44 year old father of three who was diagnosed with MND in December 2021. My symptoms first started in July of the same year when my voice started to wobble whilst giving a speech to my management team at work.

I have worked in London property all my life and loved every second. I was forced to step back from my role, as verbal communication has become difficult which has been one of the toughest aspects of this very cruel disease.

I love the outdoors and in a previous life I was a fitness fanatic who played a wide range of sports with football and golf being my two favourites. I’m just as passionate about watching and can’t think of anything better than watching England in a test match at lords.

I believe I have always been someone that ‘cracks on’ in life and after getting over the initial shock of my diagnosis I decided to rally my friends and family to raise funds for the My Nam5 is Doddie foundation. I was inspired by their forward thinking to finding a cure and to really making a difference to people living with MND. I have been overwhelmed by the level of support I have received and I am proud to say that after just 18 months I have raised £800,000.

I am shocked by the level of support patients receive in treatment, care and financial assistance and will continue to try and make a difference until my very last day.
